Replication Installation...

What forum is a replication installation question best researched/posted?
The problem I am having is that when I try to create a new local
subscription I get a message that says replication is not installed.
When I try to install replaication either via setup, setup -SKUUPGRADE=1,
the gui or control panel I get some variation of;
Your upgrade is blocked because the existing component is a later version
than the version you are trying to upgrade to.
I suspect the problem is that I have SP1 installed, and the CD is pre SP1.
Does MS deliver a version of SQL Server 2005 setup.exe for SP1? Where can it
be gotten?
Please move this to the appropriate group, or let me know where to post this
if this is not the right group.
Did you try running the set up in DEBUG mode?

How does one go about running an installation in debug mode?
What should I be looking for when I do this?
It is my opinion based on the research that I have done, is that if SP1 is
applied to an installed SQL Server it is impossible to go back and add a
component from the original media.
I hope someone here can tell me that I am wrong and/or how to fix my problem
